Strangely Amazing, Book Two, Lilly + Michael
Writing Process -Michael was supposed to be a villain in Break Free, but he kept saying to me: “Please don’t make me an asshole.” -Lilly and Lynn (from Break Free) have the exact same initials. L.E.S: Lilly Ella Shepard. Lynn Eve Scott. -I wrote the first draft of Strangely Amazing over 4th of July weekend, 2017. -I did not plan to write the Lilly + Michael story, but my book consultant ended our talks about Break Free with a side comment: I can’t wait to read Michael’s story. I reread the BF manuscript and realized there was a story to tell. -Lilly is a stoic character but since I write rom com, I had to make her smile-worthy. Her GTA ritual was born from this need. -Michael as a billionaire… I had to think: How does someone move through their home when they have house staff? The scene where Michael says “I love you” was significant to write because they had to whisper. Whispering created intimacy.
